Grumbling and Complaining

Oct 18, 2026  •  Pastor John King

Three days after celebrating God's deliverance at the Red Sea, the Israelites were already grumbling.

They found bitter water at Marah, faced empty stomachs in the wilderness, and questioned whether God was still with them when there was no water at Rephidim.

In this message from Exodus 15:22–17:7, Pastor Ruth explores what Israel's complaints reveal about fear, memory, trust, and God's grace.

We'll see how God transformed bitter water, provided manna one day at a time, established a rhythm of Sabbath rest, and brought water from the rock.

The wilderness did not create Israel's mistrust.

It revealed it.

Our wilderness seasons can do the same.

Yet this story also points us toward Jesus—the Bread of Life and the Rock of our salvation.

When we cannot see what God is doing, we can still trust who God has shown Himself to be.
