Rev. Dr. Ruth King
Lead Pastor
Rev. Dr. Ruth King is the founder and lead pastor of Pivot Point Church. Ordained by the Church of the Nazarene in 2016, she brings years of experience in pastoral ministry, biblical teaching, compassionate outreach, church administration, and community leadership.
Throughout her ministry, Ruth has served in numerous roles, including associate pastor, Pastor of Compassionate Ministries, children's and youth ministry, Bible study leadership, and community outreach. Her passion has always been meeting people where they are and helping them experience the love of Jesus in practical and meaningful ways.
Ruth also spent years serving as a church office administrator, gaining valuable experience in the day-to-day operations of a church, including financial administration, video production, website design, and social media. Working directly with pastors, she also helped identify and communicate the needs of congregation members, serving as an important connection between the people and their pastoral leadership. This combination of administrative, technical, and pastoral experience helped prepare her for the unique challenges of founding and leading an online church.
Ruth holds a doctorate in naturopathy and a master's degree in holistic nutrition. Her education played an important role in shaping the food and outreach ministries she led. Rather than simply distributing whatever food was available, Ruth worked to provide families with nutritious options, including fresh produce, dairy products, and meats alongside traditional pantry staples. She believes that serving others means treating them with dignity and providing meaningful assistance that supports their overall well-being.
For years, Ruth's ministry focused on feeding the body, providing nutritious food and practical assistance to families in need. Today, her ministry is focused on feeding the soul—helping people discover the life-changing love of Jesus Christ and grow through the nourishment of God's Word.
While the focus of her ministry has changed, her heart has not. Whether meeting physical needs or spiritual ones, Ruth believes that genuine ministry begins with loving people, meeting them where they are, and pointing them toward Jesus.
Ruth believes that Scripture tells one connected story pointing to Jesus and is passionate about making biblical teaching understandable, meaningful, and applicable to everyday life. She wants people not only to know about God but to experience a personal, growing relationship with Him.
Through Pivot Point Church, Ruth seeks to create a welcoming community where people can ask questions, discover their God-given purpose, grow in faith, and become confident disciples of Jesus Christ. She believes the Church is not defined by a building but by people who love God and share His love with the world.
Away from ministry, Ruth enjoys spending time with her husband, John, their four children, and two granddaughters. She also shares her home with two lovable Corgis who keep life interesting! When she finds a little quiet time, she enjoys sewing and expressing her creativity through the things she makes.

John King
Associate Pastor
Pastor John King serves as associate pastor and music director at Pivot Point Church. Recently ordained, John brings years of experience in church ministry, having served as a worship leader and Bible study leader. He has a lifelong love of music and singing, but what brings him the greatest joy is connecting with people and sharing the love of Jesus. He rarely misses an opportunity to talk about his faith and encourage others in theirs.
Professionally, John has worked as a systems architect for 32 years, bringing extensive technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a gift for understanding how things work together. His expertise has been especially valuable in helping establish and support the technology behind Pivot Point Church's online ministry.
John has also spent many years investing in the next generation as a dedicated Boy Scout leader. As his two sons and one of his daughters participated in Scouting, John devoted countless hours to mentoring young people, teaching practical skills, building character, and helping them develop confidence and leadership abilities. His commitment to shaping young lives reflects the same heart for people that he brings to ministry today.
Throughout their marriage, John has been a faithful supporter of Ruth and her calling to ministry. From helping with food and compassionate outreach ministries to working behind the scenes to bring Pivot Point Church to life, he has consistently offered his time, talents, and encouragement. His partnership and willingness to serve have been an important part of the church's journey.
