Genesis: Created in God’s Image | The Storyline of Scripture

Genesis opens with purpose, design, and relationship. In this message, we explore the two complementary creation accounts of Genesis 1–2 and discover what it truly means to be made in the image of God.

From the cosmic view of creation to the intimate moment when God breathes life into humanity, we see that mankind is not an accident or afterthought, but the climax of creation—formed with intention, dignity, and responsibility. God creates man and woman equally in His image, calling them into relationship, meaningful work, community, and stewardship.

This sermon reminds us that our worth comes from God’s verdict, not our performance, and that we were created for connection—with God and with one another. Even here in the opening chapters of Scripture, creation points forward to redemption through Christ.
